After sending a prospective captain an email with my deckhand cv and and an introduction of "hoping I'm the one you're looking for to join your crew", I could've never imagined that email would turn into being the one he was looking for as a life partner.

We shook hands for the first time in Istanbul, Turkey on May 24th 2022, which happens to be the exact same date as our wedding.

We spent the summer in the Mediterranean and for the first time realised there was something in the air between us when he looked at me with a little different spark in his eyes in Mykonos, Greece.

Spending each day together and many hours in the bridge underway talking about anything and everything to keep him awake throughout the many nautical miles, his smile when he looked at me, and fondness of me grew more and more.

We made amazing memories with our spontaneous motorbike ride through the Alps, being the absolute highlight, and Ashton constantly saying "that was the best day of my life", and I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to experience that together.

By the end of the Med-season in September, he asked me if I could come and meet his family when we get to the USA.

Our love began to grow and we were then onto the Caribbean season where we felt like everyday was an adventure and had so much fun together and knew that what we shared is something we wanted to last forever.

In May 2023 he came to South Africa with me for safaris and family introductions and then we were onto our next season, New England.

He proposed on August 3rd 2023 at sunset at the Montauk lighthouse during a picnic which turned into a slowdance to Next Thing You Know by Jordan Davis with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen and truly made me feel like a princess who was about to start forever with her prince charming.

We are very excited for what the future holds for us and can't wait to share our special day with friends and family on a date that feels like the stars aligned for us.
